Project Description

Indian Village Mission

India

The Purpose of Indian Village Mission:

The Purpose of Indian Village Mission is to provide education, shelter, food in order to empower the vulnerable children who are denied of their basic needs and right of education. Through the empowerment, the children can become responsible, independent and faithful citizens of our country. Our final goal is to make them disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Origin of the Ministry:

Indian Village Mission Home was started for the orphans who lost their parents. In 2000, God gave a vision to start the home in India for underprivileged children.

Location of Indian Village Mission:

The Indian Village Mission Children’s Home is located in the Southern part of India called Tiruvallur (30 miles from Chennai Airport). It is also very close to a major metropolitan area called Chennai. Indian Village Mission has one small building that accomodates 20 children.

What we do:

We provide care for orphans. Most of the children come through missionary referrals from different villages. The children must be verified and approved by government officials (called Child Development Project Officers). They come with a wide variety of backgrounds: abusive situations, street children, real orphans. We strongly believe the Lord sends them to our children home so we do our best to nurture them.

Once they complete the schooling, we give them vocational training through which they get training and become independent to survive on their own. We have empowered more than 100 boys who are working in many companies, industries, as electrician, plumbers, building contractors.

How many children are at Indian Village Mission Children’s Home?

There are typically 20 children in the home ranging in age from 6 to 18.

What does Indian Village Mission Children’s Home provide for the children?

We totally take care of the children once they are into our Children home, like shelter, food and education and Vocational training.

What are the Ministries we are involved:

  1. Orphanage Ministry – Boy’s Children Home
  2. Mission to the Blind people – We serve visually blind people on a monthly basis. In order to uplift their life and stop them from begging, we provide rice and groceries which is a very basic need.
  3. Missionary support: We support missionaries who work in the villages with great sacrifices. Most do not have enough resources and find it very difficult to educate their children and manage their families.
  4. Girl child’s support: A missionary we know passed away during Covid and left his family behind poor. We support one of the missionary’s surviving daughters.

The Greatest Need and Vision: As we have been serving orphan boys, we have been burdened by God to start an orphanage for girls. The situation of orphan girls here is very pathetic; they are forced into adulatory, meager works and begging on the streets. They are not able to educate themselves due to poverty. They are misused by the society.

In order to have a home for the orphan girls we need a separate spacious building and monthly support.

    1. To purchase land and to put up building it cost approximately: $500,000
    2. Child Sponsorship: $50/month
    3. A Van for the Children Home : $ 40,000 (It has been very difficult in taking the children to school since they have to walk long distance, especially during rain and summer season)
