Project Description
Lea is Ethiopian by birth but American through international adoption. Raised in Denver, Colorado, she returned to Ethiopia to work in the realm of orphan care in 2019.
Her work has spanned the full length of caring for orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) as she’s been a part of two local NGOs and even directed a national network of Christian organizations.
Inspired by her own story, her heart has always been to be a part of the movement towards the growth and flourishing of local adoption. It’s out of that and a sincere willingness of her church, the International Evangelical Church (IEC), that the IEC Orphan Care Initiative has been born.
The ministry’s three primary aims are: to help educate and equip the congregation (and eventually the community) to care well for OVC, encourage adoptive families, and strategically collaborate with other organizations for resource development and impactful service opportunities.
