I
work with Alongsiders International, whose vision is to mobilize and equip youth to reach vulnerable children in their own communities. I am the principal of their online leadership training Academy, through which I train leaders who will launch the Alongsiders movement in their countries in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. My background is in the field of contextualized theological education, curriculum design, and creative inner healing prayer. As a competitive swimmer who loves the water, my favorite memories are swimming with wild dolphins in Hawaii and sitting in outdoor hot springs in my Japanese hometown.
Together with my husband, Andy, and three teenage girls, we lived and served in Japan and Cambodia for 15 years total. In June 2016, we came ‘home’ to Albuquerque, NM, where our girls now go to school. Andy is a local middle school teacher. Both of us are active board members of the Alongsiders USA. Through our local church, we have launched the first group of ‘Alongsiders’ who walk alongside vulnerable children in a struggling neighborhood of Albuquerque.
