September 2016

We appreciate the door God has opened for us to be ambassadors for Christ in Belize. We pray you will give us a few minutes of your time to read our update, watch a four minute video and pray for God’s provision and protection as we seek to do God’s good will in Belize.

We have now been in Belize over five years and are so excited as God is changing the landscape of Belize physically and spiritually as we try to faithfully lay our lives on the line to share the Love of Christ and the Word of Christ.  We have survived being hit by drunk drivers, three hurricanes, various tropical illnesses and daily struggles with the enemy as we fight the good fight and keep the faith.

God continues to direct us as He desires and we embrace that His ways are higher than our ways. Over the last couple of years we have adopted a model similar to what Jesus used for training His disciples; we call it “Life Discipleship”.  Young Belizean men from our village spend the majority of their waking hours working along side us that provides for their families while they learn work and life skills and most importantly about God through Bible studies, prayer, and living life with us. Click here to watch a video that was prepared by a team that was here in June as they tried to capture at least part of what we do here.

I John 3:16-18 says, “This is how we know what love is, Jesus Christ laid down his life for us and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with just words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

We are asking you to partner with us to provide the prayer and financial support to enable us to keep the door of ministry God has opened moving forward in Belize.

1. We are seeking to pay off Samuel’s Sanctuary now per the counsel of our attorney as NT Dellinger the missionary of 52 years in Belize who sold and financed us the property passed on to glory September 9th.  The final payment will be $19,250 and we are asking for your help to pay off the Samuel’s Sanctuary note to avoid possible probate.

2. We are asking individuals, families, small groups and churches to help sponsor a young Belizean man to become a part of our ministry and “Life Discipleship”. The average cost is $500 per month and covers his salary, social security and other benefits and helps him support his extended family as well.

3. We have ongoing medical bills related to Dino being hit by the drunk driver who did not have insurance.  The good news is the life threatening complications seem to have been resolved, but he requires more procedures including a spine specialist to resolve the numbness in both legs.

If you could help us and these young Belizean men and their families by sending a tax deductible gift as God has provided for you. We recommend sending a check made out to Orphanos and noted for Samuel's Sanctuary. You can choose credit card as well but there is a fee charged to Orphanos for using that service. Here is the link with more info on how to give. https://orphanos.org/donate
