911 Life provides an integral full-time restoration program for at-risk single moms and their children, as well as the training and equipping of believers, activating them in practical missions, so they can serve and love those in need through the power and love of Jesus.
Our two-fold vision is to bring about the restoration and transformation of at-risk children and families through the powerful love of Jesus, and also to train and equip Christian believers worldwide.
WHAT IS 911 FAMILY?
911 FAMILY is a full-time care program under 911 LIFE which assists at-risk single mothers and their children, helping them in their spiritual, physical, intellectual, social and professional growth. 911 FAMILY will be a refuge for these women and their children, providing restoration for the family in a Christ-centered environment.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The program will initially include the provision of free room and board for up to five mothers and their children, along with various programs aimed at the restoration of these families. It will provide three main areas of attention: spiritual, character and professional development. A Christian psychologist will assist in designing and implementing these programs. This would include jobs training and stewardship for the moms, as well as assistance in finding suitable employment. We will also partner with the local church for the families’ spiritual development.
WHY WORK WITH FAMILIES?
Colombia has the highest rate in Latin America of children born to mothers out of wedlock (84%). Many of these families are in extreme poverty, without access to quality education, and in an environment where violence, abuse and despair are commonplace. These mothers are often either involved with, or are at risk of getting involved with, sex trafficking.
WHICH FAMILIES WILL BE SERVED?
This program is designed to assist at-risk mothers and children who are in a crisis situation which has the potential to put the children either in foster care or on the street.
WHAT ARE THE PROGRAM GOALS?
Our program will create strong, self-sufficient families who model Christ-centered principles and passionately follow Jesus. In the first year, we expect to serve five mothers and their children. The projection is to double this figure for the second year. By the year 2023, we hope to have new offices in operation, in the country and beyond, following the 911 LIFE model.
