Four Gringo's!

We are safely at La Aljaba in Leticia. That´s a normal thing to say but in this case it really feels special after a night in the jungle with the team. We slept in a treehouse like 4,000,000 meters in the air (it felt that way). The treehouse had all the amenities one would expect including rainwater fed toilets that ran out of water despite an hour of the hardest rain I have seen. We play tug of war with tarantulas on our night walk in the jungle. We did a ropes course 210 feet in the air and held a python. Wayne saw his first anacoda in many visits with the children.
And, the children. What a warm welcome! The hugs and the smiles! If these children do not grab your heart and lift it to the heavens, then nothing will. We are having a birthday party for all the kids who have birthdays in July and August tomorrow. Tonight we get a huge treat with all of the kids going to get pizza at a local restaurant. Some have never eaten at a restaurant ever and the others know what a privilege it is. Off to play with the kids!

We are safely at CasaNavi in Bogota. The bed & breakfast is larger than the typical B&B at home. We practiced our Spanish with the uncle(Sonny), the mom (Claudia) and the daughter (Natalia). Fortunately, Natalia spoke English very well. After a nice visit, we enjoyed some nectar frutto and now we are headed off to bed.
Tomorrow, we will head to the botanic gardens and then jump on a plane to Leticia. After lunch at the restaurant, we go into the jungle to pet anaconda and eat piranha. (kidding about the last part).

Tomorrow, we head to the airport. We'll spend Wednesday night in Bogota and head into the jungle on Thursday. Assuming everyone survives the piranha and anaconda, we'll visit with the kids from Friday night until Sunday night. Then, it's an overnight in Bogota and a plane ride home.
Please pray for our weak American constitutions; for the travel details to go smoothly; that we would go with a servant's heart; for those receiving us, and their grace-filled hospitality; and, most importantly, that God would be glorified in our speech, actions and lives through this transformational experience.
For those who support the team in prayer or financially, we offer our humble thanks. Please know that you are an important part of the team as well. Tom O'Neill, Wil Tustin and Pete Hastings are the team members. Somehow, we talked Wayne into leading us. With that group, you know we need your prayers...
