Spring Again

posted by Wayne Sneed — May 4th, 2010

It's spring again in Memphis.  Time to get out the allergy medicine and the umbrellas.  Why the rain doesn't wash away the pollen is beyond us, but both rain and pollen are common this time of year.

Grammy and the girlsWayne's mom came for a visit this past month.  We got her a plane ticket for her birthday in January, and we chose to use it on a day when Audrey was having a Grandparents Day lunch at school.  It turned out they changed the day on us, so Grammy arrived the week after the other grandparents.  Which it turns out was a good thing because ALL the kids in the class got to share Audrey's grandmother and we got to participate in a kickball game outside against the teachers.  That was fun.

GT2010Of course shortly after that we had turn turn our focus completely on the golf tournament rapidly approaching.  On April 26th we hosted our 3rd annual Orphanos GT2010 at Spring Creek Ranch.  Spring Creek is a really cha cha cha course here in the Memphis area.  The tournament went well and Orphanos was able to Shawnsee a small profit from it.  Wayne and playersEvery little bit helps!  One aspect of the day that was really special was Angela's sister and brother in law came.  Andrea hung out in the golf carts with Angela and Aly, but Shawn spent the day on the golf course playing.  We really enjoyed having them both here, and think that it was a special blessing for them also to be able to participate.

Audrey is busy with school and being a kid. She had a great "Bird Program" last week where she actually had a speaking part.  Aly is busy with figuring out how to not drool on herself when she gets the milk and how to get those appendages under control.  She is probably the smilingest baby we've ever seen.  Daddy and Aly
at workAngela is busy with more "go-lives" at the hospital, being a wife, and being a mom to two very cute girls. Wayne is busy being Superman; running Orphanos, keeing Alyson during the day, being husband, being daddy, and mowing the lawn as often as he can get in the yard.

Wayne only has three out of country trips this summer to prepare for, so that's not as bad as some previous summers.  One team is from Briarcrest, a local Christian school in Memphis.  (Actually the school where "the Blind Side" story really happened!)  He's been teaching a missions class there on Tuesday mornings from 7am to 8am.  That makes for some early mornings!

Next up on our normally whacky Sneed calender is May.  No travel.  Schools gets out.  Angela goes out of town again to Oxford to do another "go-live" for their hospital. Wayne continues to teach at Briarcrest. And we've got one set of friends coming to Memphis for a short visit, but other than that there isn't a lot on the calender.  Yeah, right.  we'll believe it when it's over.

Thanks everyone for your prayers, your support, and your friendship.  All three are vital to our well being.
