Giving Thanks!

“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1-2
If you know me well you know this has been a very challenging year for my husband and I. Despite all that we have been through God has never left our side and has given us the strength to overcome the hardships we have faced. While it would be so easy to give up and become angry, I am instead singing praises to Our Lord. He has given us everything we have needed day by day. Although at times we have felt desperate and defeated God has shown us He has a plan and to trust in Him. While there have been many challenges for us this year I also see the many blessings from God. I want to sing praises to God for all the many blessings He has given us.
Just recently we were able to spend thanksgiving with our families. I love my family dearly and each member of my family is such a blessing to me. I am thankful that I have a loving husband and a wonderful family. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to reflect and praise God for all we are thankful for.
Another blessing is that my surgery went very very well. The surgery was successful and there were no complications. I went home that same day and rested the remainder of the week. I am feeling wonderful now and very thankful the surgery went so well.
In my last update I asked for your prayers for teaching at ECS. I was able to teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade students about Children at Risk. The students were very attentive and asked a lot of questions. I really believe they learned a lot and I pray that I planted a seed in the students to help and serve others in need. I truely feel it is a blessing to be able to share with students about the ministry of Orphanos.
One of the biggest blessings in the past year has been working for Orphanos and letting God use me to help His children. I am also blessed to have a loving husband, a home, and food. Thank you Lord for all your blessing, I will sing praises for all you have done!
May God bless each one of you and I pray you have a very Merry Christmas!

Hi, Jennifer.
I read your blog and my heart was touched that you are praising the Lord in the midst of difficulty and continuing to trust His hand.
We became involved with Orphanos when my daughter went to Mexico her freshman year of high school and served at the orphanage during spring break. She was at Iowa Christian Academy in West Des Moines, Iowa, at the time, and she's now a junior in college and majoring in accounting and business and minoring in Spanish, and her hope is to return some day.
But anyway, we receive their newsletter online, and I always read it and print it off. My husband and I pray daily, and we always remember to include them and their needs.
Please let me know if there are any things we can pray personally for you, and we would be privileged to do so.
May you experience the fullness of God in your life and your ministry.
In His Love,
Roxanne Hugley
