Increasing In Nunber & Love!

Greetings, from Lar Batista!
It has been a little while since I had a chance to write to you, and a lot has been going on here at Lar Batista. Some things never change and we are so glad for that… God has been good and faithful to us. We have had a busy winter, summer for you, and here are some of the things going on here.
Our family is doing well and increasing in number. As we have mentioned before, that for us, means that God is blessing us, by trusting us with yet more children that need to be raised to love him. We are blessed and humbled by that. It makes me think that when these children grow and leave, they will be extentions on our family and God is extendng our territory! Most importantly, we are blessed to make an impact in their lives, for the Lord as He increase our family in blessings and numbers.
Additions to the family:
The latest addition to our family is a sibling group o f three sisters. Viviani, 12, Andressa, 8 and Luana, 3. Like most children at our home, these girls do not come from pleasant situations. They have seen a whole lot in their short lives, but God is writing a new chapter in their lives, now at Lar Batista. I think we needed some more girls here. For a long time we have had a lot more boys than girls and these three girls bring the count a little closer. The boys still outnumber the girls.
A very interesting thing is that Viviani has some special needs and she mostly kept to herself when she got here. As the weeks progressed, she has made a point to come out more and interact more with the rest of the family. She has a lot more verbal and we can see that the other children have taken a special interest in her. Someone is always making sure she has what she needs and walk her to her buss top to go to school and make sure to be there when she arrives. She needs consistency in her life and it is important to provide that for her. Please keep these lovely girls in your prayers and please pray they will come to know the Lord soon!
Coming to Christ!
Good news on Gabriel! Well, that is the name of an important angel, but at our house, Gabriel spelled MISCHIEF until very recently. Our Gabriel is a great child, he is very smart and it does not take him long to learn things. Consequently he always seem to have more free time than he needs, which allows him to be mischievous. Last Sunday, Gabriel prayed to receive Jesus in his life and we can only wait to see the changes God is going to bring about in his life. Gabriel is only 9 but has 4 years of street living and has a perspective on people and the world that many of us will never have. However the most important thing is that now he loves Jesus and has a family who loves him so much! Please keep him in your prayers.
Boys’ dorm
We have been working on that dorm for a while now. We have received several grants to help us with the total cost of the renovations. We are very thankful and amazed again, at how God chose to meet this need. Churches and companies in the USA helped us, a dear church in Paris , France, helped us and several individuals as well. Here in our city, a friend who owns a fabric store also gave us a 50% discount on all the materials we needed and I got to make beautiful curtains, bed spreads and pillow cases for the boys. They were excited to help repair and paint everything and the final result could not have been better. We are very thankful!
Extreme make-over
While Marcia was in Colombia with Grace, we worked on her room as well. Marcia is in charge of the boys’ dorm, so we fixed things in her room, painted and made sure it all looked great for when she arrived. It was such a blessing and the boys were excited about helping us make her room beautiful! We were blessed to do this for her and she was happy and thankful when she arrived.
God is so good! We have recently enjoyed two weeks of winter break and it has been cold here, with a high of 50F, which is cold for us. We are back to normal and looking forward to working hard so all the children will finish the school year well. December will be here before we know it.
Thank you so much for your prayers and love and we can always use more of that! You are in our prayers
Rute,
For the Lar Batista Family
