A Major Scare!

Two weeks ago something important happened here in Leticia that made the people had different reactions and that affected all of us in some way.
We were here in the house resting after having lunch and suddenly we hear an explotion and 5 minutes later another strongest explotion that made us to run to the gate to ask what was happened. We saw a big column of fume and the explosions continued. We wait, I turned on the radio trying to find any information but it was a transmition of a soccer game that never stopped. Then it began to pass in front of our house a lot of people trying to get the Brazil frontier and evacuating the city, people said that we have to evacuate because there were a great possibility of a big, big explotion. We prayed together and waited up to now what was really happening. It came one of the mothers of our children and was surprised with the reaction of his boy who prayed in front of the neighbors and was asking the Lord protection and forgiveness for their sins. I was very impressed, it was the time to see what the Lord has been doing in the hearts of our children. Praise God!!
Finally we was informed that the explotion was caused in the army where all their arms exploited but they did not know the reasons. It has caused a lot of reactions; at the church we commented the event and we knew that we should be prepared for any event the Lord will permit here or in any place, as Christians we have some responsibilities in many orders, we should help, we should support, we should give advise, we should pray, we should console, we should give hopeness in Jesus Christ., our children in La Aljaba also can be part of the leaders in any place they were. Praise God!
LEARNING ENGLISH
Joshua is a missionary student of Christ for the Nations that will stay here in Leticia for one year. He is Canadian and will be teaching English to the children in La Aljaba and also to the team. The group is very happy and enthusiastic with this. It will help us a lot. The English classes begun the last week.
FINANCES
The dollar has continued going down and we have here in La Aljaba the duly care to save according to the situation. The general reaction has been good and also the children are cooperating with taking care of everything.
We also thank the Lord for His grace with us here in La Aljaba in our work to glorify its name!
With love,
Lucy
