CASA DE NIÑOS “LA ALJABA”

“Surely God is my salvation.  I will trust and not be afraid.  The Lord, the Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted” Isaiah 12:2-4

This last month we have a lot of activity here at La Aljaba which meant that the Lord was continuing to give us His love and blessing!!  How can we not share about that if we see everyday His mercy and love?

Our children studied this month the main subject on the way everybody can use their gifts for bad or for good.  They did very well and we also repeated the subject in a workshop with the parents.  We know that if we do not work with the parents it is almost impossible to reach our purpose with the children, “to have the Lord as the most important in their lives” and all that it means.  Praise the Lord the attendance to our meetings are high, it is really very good; we have more or less about 85% attendance.  The children are also doing well at school most of them have the best performance in their school, others are working hard.  Gilberto, a boy who is one of the founders’ children is doing well after many years of working hard, we are very proud and we shared that with the parents, it is important to recognize his effort, his mother is still the sad part of the story and we need to keep her in prayer.

We were also blessed from somebody that heard the voice of the Lord to give a special abundance of food to the children each week. We started a program called “Friday All You Can Eat” something that of course sounds very well.  The children and also the adults are very happy so I hope the ladies will not need to diet later!! 

We also had a visit of brothers from Orphanos this month, it was a blessing, and you cannot imagine the many ways we were blessed:  they brought some presents and letters from sponsors there in the United States and those who received any were really happy, you cannot imagine their faces….  I highly appreciate those who showed the love of Jesus to our children with details that simple means “love” to them. 

This time the team from Orphanos was very particular, Wayne use to come with the teams and give us encouragement but this time Bill Granger came too, we have not seen him for three years and we all were very happy to see him.  Also Todd came with a special purpose, to make a radio program for Memphis directly from here, from the Amazon in Colombia.  Praise the Lord for the technology that permitted us to do that, the children were heard by probably millions of people in Tennessee.

I also want to share about one of the children that has been impacted for our ministry, she is Andrea and you probably remember a girl that appears reading the Bible in our 1^st slides presentation. We celebrated her 18^th birthday; it means she becomes an adult.  Andrea is not a benefited child now; she is studying at the university and is also helping the children here at night.  I praise the Lord! It was my dream that someday our children would serve the Lord with other children by giving after having received.
